About the role We are looking to hire a full-time Human Resources Officer to join our team at Groote Archipelago Regional Council in Darwin, NT. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive Recruitment and HR support and services to our diverse workforce, ensuring we maintain compliance with all relevant regulations and foster a positive and productive work environment. What you''ll be doing Supporting the delivery of end-to-end human resources and recruitment functions, working closely with the Senior Human Resources Officer to ensure a consistent and effective employee lifecycle from recruitment through to offboarding Coordinating and administering recruitment activities, including advertising, shortlisting, selection processes and onboarding, while providing guidance to hiring managers to ensure timely and compliant outcomes Providing day-to-day HR support and advice to employees and managers, guided by relevant legislation, awards and Council policies, and assisting across employee relations and performance matters Supporting the implementation and administration of performance and development processes, promoting consistent practices and positive employee outcomes across the organisation Maintaining accurate and confidential employee records across HR systems, ensuring compliance with legislative and organisational requirements and supporting reporting requirements Assisting with workers compensation, injury management and workplace health and safety coordination to support employee wellbeing and organisational compliance What we''re looking for Certificate IV in Human Resources or minimum 2 years'' experience in a similar role Demonstrated practical experience in human resources and recruitment functions, preferably within a public sector or local government environment. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Human Resources and Industrial Relations legislation, employment principles, and compliance and reporting requirements. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Human Resources practices, including policies, procedures, awards and applicable agreements. Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain a high level of attention to detail. Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with and adapt to a wide range of stakeholders in a developing organisation. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn and utilise other systems. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
