Botanist Creative is a hospitality-focused marketing agency working with some of the best venues in Canberra (and beyond). We build brands that feel alive. We shoot content that actually moves people. We run ads that turn into bookings. Now were looking for someone who can sit right in the middle of strategy and design someone who can think, create and execute. Not just post. Build. The Role Youll be our Social Media Specialist & Designer. That means youre equally comfortable planning a month of content that makes sense commercially, designing a killer A1 poster for a pub event, turning a food shoot into scroll-stopping content, building ad creative that converts, and actually understanding why something works. Youll work across restaurants, pubs, bars, precincts and hospitality groups. No two weeks look the same. What Youll Be Doing Creating monthly and fortnightly content plans Designing graphics, menus, posters, table talkers and digital ads Editing reels and short-form video content Writing captions that dont sound robotic Managing client approvals and turning around changes quickly Working with photographers and videographers on shoots Helping shape brand identity across multiple venues Collaborating with the team every Monday at 9:30am (non-negotiable) Youll own projects. Not wait to be told. Youre Probably Someone Who Has 2+ years in social media, design or creative marketing Is fast in Canva and Adobe (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) Understands hospitality (or wants to live in it) Knows that good design is clean, simple and intentional Can handle feedback without taking it personally Actually meets deadlines Doesnt panic when things change last minute (because they will) If you need constant direction, this wont suit you. If you like autonomy and building something real, youll love it. Bonus Points If You Understand Meta Ads and performance creative Can shoot solid iPhone content when needed Have taste (this is underrated) Think commercially, not just aesthetically Want to grow into a bigger creative leadership role over time The Culture Were relaxed but serious about output.
