About the Role Select Switchboards is seeking an experienced Electrical Switchboard Team Leader to take a key leadership role within our production workshop. This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for leading small teams of switchboard fitters, electricians, and trade assistants to deliver high-quality switchboards on time and to specification. You will report directly to the Production Manager and play a critical role in coordinating daily workflow on the workshop floor, maintaining quality standards, and driving productivity across multiple jobs. This role suits someone who is already a senior switchboard builder or leading hand and is ready to step into a more structured leadership position. Key Responsibilities Team Leadership Lead and supervise a team of switchboard builders, electricians, and trade assistants Allocate work and manage daily production activities on the workshop floor Provide guidance, support, and on-the-job training to team members Maintain accountability for team performance, output, and quality Production & Workflow Coordination Coordinate jobs in line with production schedules and priorities Ensure efficient sequencing of work across multiple switchboard builds Liaise with the Production Manager regarding workload, resourcing, and deadlines Identify and escalate delays, bottlenecks, or resourcing issues early Technical Oversight Read and interpret electrical schematics, panel layouts, and specifications Oversee assembly, wiring, and busbar fabrication to ensure compliance with standards Support team members with technical problem-solving and troubleshooting Quality & Compliance Ensure all work meets internal quality standards and project specifications Oversee testing and verification processes Maintain high standards of workmanship and attention to detail Enforce safe work practices and workshop procedures Continuous Improvement Identify opportunities to improve workflow, efficiency, and build quality Assist in refining workshop processes and standards Contribute to building a strong, capable, and reliable production team Who Were Looking For We are looking for a highly capable and motivated switchboard professional who can lead from the front. You will be confident managing people, coordinating work, and maintaining standardswhile still being hands-on when required.
