Southern Ridge Electrical is a growing electrical construction company delivering high-quality residential and commercial projects across Gippsland and Melbournes South East. Were looking for an experienced Estimator to join our team, based out of our Warragul office. This role suits someone with a background in electrical or construction who can confidently prepare accurate estimates, interpret drawings, and contribute to winning work. Youll work closely with our Estimating Manager and project teams, playing a key role in securing profitable projects while continuing to develop your skills within a supportive and forward-thinking About the Role As an Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates across a range of electrical construction projects. Working from our Warragul office, youll collaborate closely with our broader team across both Warragul and Pakenham, contributing to projects throughout Gippsland and Melbournes South East. Key Responsibilities Estimating & Tendering Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for electrical projects (materials, labour, equipment) Review drawings, specifications, and project documentation to determine full scope Perform quantity take-offs across electrical systems (wiring, switchboards, lighting, etc.) Manage tender submissions from start to finish Commercial & Pricing Source and negotiate pricing with suppliers and subcontractors Develop cost comparisons and value-engineered solutions Identify risks, gaps, and opportunities within project documentation Collaboration Work closely with Project Managers and Operations team to align estimates with delivery expectations Liaise with clients, builders, and consultants as required Contribute to a smooth handover of awarded projects to the delivery team Continuous Improvement Participate in post-tender reviews and analysis Help refine estimating processes, templates, and systems Stay up to date with industry trends, pricing, and electrical standards About you Were looking for someone who can hit the ground running, but still has the drive to grow within the business. You will ideally have: Electrical trade background (highly regarded) or construction estimating experience 25+ years experience in estimating or a similar role Strong ability to read and interpret plans and specifications High attention to detail and strong commercial awareness Confident communication skills with both internal teams and external stakeholders Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines Why join Southern Ridge Electrical?
