Position InformationGledswood Hills HighSchoolis the new highschoolsupporting the communities of Gregory Hills and Gledswood Hills. In 2026, theschoolsupports approximately 250 Year 7 and 8 students. The newschoolbuild is expected to be open in Term 1, 2027 with Year 7, 8 and 9 students, and an additional year group will be added annually. The first HSC cohort will be 2030, and it is anticipated that a supported learning unit will be at the school when the school moves to the permanent site.The school will have close links with Gregory Hills Public School and Gledswood Hills Public School, as partner schools.This teacher position will be for an English as an Additional Language/Dialect teacher. The teacher will be responsible for developing and implementing high quality engaging and effective differentiated teaching and learning EAL/D programs and resources to maximise the learning outcomes for students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds within the school, including Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students.Selection Criteria1. Approval to teach English as an Additional Language/Dialect or currently undertaking or currently enrolled in English as an Additional Language/Dialect qualifications approved by the NSW Department of Education2. Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to actively collaborate with students, staff and the wider community to build positive relationships that support student outcomes and promote an inclusive school culture.3. Demonstrated ability to design develop and implement high quality, engaging and differentiated teaching and learning EAL/D programs and resources to maximise the learning outcomes for students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, including Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students.4. Demonstrated capacity to track and analyse student growth using the ACARA EAL/D Learning Progressions and ESL Scales, and to contribute to whole-school data collection and reporting practices.ConditionsAn unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement.
