Our staff work in partnership with schools, GPs, hospitals, non-government agencies and other organisations to provide care across our centres, in peoples homes, other community venues as well as virtual care (telehealth).Our Child and Family Health (CFH) team is seeking a Senior Speech Pathologist supporting the Brighter Beginnings Health and Development Checks in Early Learning Services program. This is a district-wide position that involves regular travel across the district. Child and Family Health Speech Pathology provides services to children under 8 years of age using a primary health care approach, including assessment, intervention, health promotion and education for individuals and groups.The successful incumbent will be responsible for providing and supporting high-quality services and will play a key leadership role through clinical coordination, consultation and supervision, advocacy, education and support across the CFH Speech Pathology team. The role requires demonstrated skills and experience in working with complex and vulnerable families, including Aboriginal families, culturally and linguistically diverse communities, and families experiencing psychosocial vulnerability or trauma, with the ability to support and guide less experienced clinicians. The position also provides support to the CFH Speech Pathology Head of Department in the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of clinical pathways, local business rules, procedures and standards to ensure best practice speech pathology services for children and families.We invite you to share your skills and experience to contribute to the success of your local health community. For more information, please click here Child Safe StandardsFor assistance with applying through the NSW Health Career Portal please click here.What you will bring to the roleDegree in Speech Pathology with eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia.Demonstrated extensive and advanced experience in paediatric clinical services, including: Assessment, planning and evaluating Speech Pathology interventions in working with children presenting with difficulties in feeding and/or communication development.Demonstrated competent clinical decision making both independently and in a multidisciplinary team regarding service delivery for clients and their familiesDemonstrated high level communication skills both interpersonal and written including ability to work with families from low socioeconomic backgrounds and culturally and linguistically diverse communities.Demonstrated high level organisational and time management skills in an environment of competing clinical and administrative demands.
