Trainee Veterinary Nurses (2 Positions) We are seeking two full time Trainee Veterinary Nurses to join our supportive and experienced team. This is a hands-on role where you will gain real clinical experience and support for your studies toward a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. About the Role As a trainee you will be supported to learn all aspects of veterinary nursing, including: Assisting veterinarians and nurses during medical treatment, examinations and surgical procedures. Providing patient care, administering medications and monitoring and recovery after surgery. Maintaining clean, safe and organised surgery, consultation, hospital and shelter environments. Undertaking a significant amount of hands on animal attendant duties including cleaning, feeding and general husbandry of cats in our care. You will gain exposure to day-to-day clinical work and develop the confidence and capability required for a career in veterinary nursing. About us Ten Lives is a self-funded organisation which exists to shelter and help kittens and cats. Additionally, we provide support and education to the Tasmanian community on methods and benefits of responsible cat ownership. We work to care for cats, our environment, and our community; our triple bottom line - people, the planet and pussy cats. What We Offer A two-year traineeship. Fully funded Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing with ongoing support from experienced veterinarians and nurses.Exposure to a broad range of clinical skills including medical nursing, surgical support and patient care.A cats only environment with a strong focus on low stress feline handling and behaviour, with opportunities for additional species training to be facilitated. About You We are looking for someone who: Has completed or is nearing completion of a Certificate II in Animal Care or Veterinary Nursing. Has a genuine passion for animal welfare. Is reliable, motivated and eager to learn. Has a positive, solution focused mindset. Communicates well and works effectively in a team. Thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
