You see the big picture, youve always worked on a grand scale, and now youre ready to re-focus on grand impact.You have the opportunity to gain a wealth of expertise and a diverse range of skills, providing insight and knowledge without losing sight of your work-life balance or wellbeing.In this role, you''ll:Work as part of a team providing operational asset assurance including asset stewardship, technical assurance, asset planning, and lifecycle optimisation across Transport for NSWs operational asset portfolio.You will provide technical assurance and asset performance oversight across light rail systems, including rolling stock, track, power and operational technology.Operating within a safety-critical, regulated environment, you will ensure assets maintained by operators meet required standards for safety, reliability and performance.You will apply systems thinking to understand how light rail infrastructure, rolling stock and operational systems interact, ensuring technical assurance supports safe and reliable service delivery.Your day to day will involve: Analysis of asset condition, asset failures, reliability and performance data to support risk-based decision making Supporting the implementation of technical assurance frameworks with operators, ensuring compliance with standards and regulatory requirements Providing technical input into Asset and Services Plans (ASPs) and lifecycle strategies Working with operators and maintainers to ensure maintenance practices and performance outcomes meet contractual and technical expectations Reviewing technical documentation, maintenance plans and specifications to ensure they are fit-for-purpose and aligned to maintenance strategies Supporting assurance review of configuration change to ensure they are fit for purpose for intended operations Supporting investigation and resolution of technical and system level performance issues Review day-to-day records, monthly/quarterly/annual reports/data/records and Annual Works Plan to assure assets are performing to requirements. Collaborating across asset managers, engineers contract teams, operators, and maintainers in a matrix environment Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives to uplift asset performance and assurance outcomesFor more information on this position and business unit, view the role description andinformation pack.About youYou are a capable technical advisor with experience in rail or light rail environments, with a strong focus on asset performance, assurance and lifecycle outcomes.You are comfortable providing expert advice on rail systems and are experienced in supporting asset strategies, maintenance planning, and continuous improvement across complex integrated infrastructure systemsYou bring: Asset Management experience working in rail or light rail in a technical assurance or asset performance role Strong understanding of systems-based asset performance and reliability, and asset lifecycle principles Strong knowledge of technical assurance, engineering governance, risk management, safety standards, and regulatory compliance in a rail or light rail environment Ability to interpret technical data and translate it into risk-based insights into decisions Proven capability in reliability engineering, root cause analysis and failure investigations Experience working across multiple stakeholders in an outsourced delivery environment Confidence to challenge technical outcomes and influence decisions Relevant engineering qualification and rail experienceWho we areTransport for NSW provides a safe, integrated, and efficient transport system.
