Together we can do more.The Emergency Department Clinical Emergency Response System (EDCERS) Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) will support the NSW Translational Grant Scheme funded project: The Respond Study - investigating clinical emergency response and undetected deterioration in the emergency department. The project aims to evaluate the efficacy, adaptability and replicability of EDCERS and develop a scalable standardised NSW EDCERS protocol and implementation toolkit. EDCERS is a standardised Clinical Emergency Response System (CERS) designed, to identify physiological and psychological deterioration, adapted for the different levels of acuity and admission status of patients who are cared for in the ED.The EDCERS CNC is responsible for the coordination of the project across four sites in ISLHD (Wollongong Hospital, Shellharbour Hospital, Shoalhaven District Memorial Hospital and Milton Ulladulla Hospital). They will be the clinical liaisons, working closely with the Chief Investigators, District Emergency Services team, Emergency Medical Directors and Nurse Managers across ISLHD to evaluate EDCERS, collect data from clinicians and medical records. Training and support will be provided.The role requires an experienced emergency nurse, with attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrated excellence in education and training, an understanding of data collection and knowledge of the ISLHD clinical and administrative systems.The role will be based at Wollongong Hospital, may require travel to other ISLHD sites.For more information and to view the position classification, see the Position Description here.A little about us.Wollongong Hospital is the Illawarra Shoalhavens major referral and teaching hospital and has a bed-base count of more than 500.
