You will work in a collaborative, evidence-based environment that values clinical excellence, medication safety and professional growth.WSLHD serves a diverse community of over 1 million people, providing rich clinical variety and exposure to a broad range of patient presentations and specialties.Work closely with medical, nursing and allied health teams across a wide range of clinical specialties in a leading teaching hospital environment.Access to salary packaging, Fitness Passport, Employee Assistance Program and extensive professional development opportunities.Strong ties to university partners and training programs, with opportunities to supervise students and contribute to pharmacy education.What you''ll be doingResponsible to the Inpatients Pharmacy Coordinator for the provision of a comprehensive pharmacy service to patients at Westmead Hospital and to ensure the safe, appropriate and cost-effective use of medicines.Facilitate medication assessment and provide quality pharmaceutical care to patients, actively contributing to multidisciplinary teams to deliver effective clinical pharmacy services.Perform or supervise tasks of drug distribution necessary to ensure the safe and accurate distribution of medication, and apply medication management programs consistent with departmental and hospital policies.Promote antimicrobial stewardship strategies such as appropriate prescribing of antimicrobials in accordance with Drug Committee and other approved evidence-based guidelines.Provide medicine information to clinical staff and patients, and effectively supervise the work of pharmacy technicians, other supportive staff and students as required.Participate in departmental quality assurance and key performance indicator programs, and be willing and able to work overtime, weekends and on-call as per departmental rosters.How to ApplyApply online by submitting your resume and addressing the criteria listed below by providing examples that demonstrate your ability before the closing date. Essential RequirementsFull and unrestricted Pharmacist Registration with AHPRABachelor of Pharmacy or equivalent, satisfying Grade 2 classification under the Health Employees Pharmacists (State) AwardSelection CriteriaDemonstrated excellent communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal).Demonstrated extensive experience in clinical hospital pharmacy with satisfactory pharmacy dispensing experience in Australia (or equivalent).Demonstrated excellent therapeutic knowledge and ability to exercise a high level of initiative in the application of pharmaceutical principles to clinical practice.Demonstrated organisational skills and the ability to prioritise work and manage time to meet deadlines.Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team with a high degree of self-motivation and ability to effect practice change.Excellent time management with attention to detail.Safe, effective medication management is at the core of outstanding patient care.
