The Assistant Director, Project Governance and Board Secretariat is primarily responsible for overseeing the secretariat function for the Housing and Community Infrastructure Program Board. This role ensures the quality and consistency of Board related documentation, facilitates effective governance processes, and leads coordination across internal teams and government stakeholders. The role may also manage secretariat responsibilities within project related governance forums. Primary responsibilities of the role will include: Provide quality control of documents and monitor of all papers being tabled in governance meetings, for correct and consistent production. Draft, Coordinate and Review governance related documents and coordinate the input into papers for the Program Board and associated sub-committees, as well as various forms of government reporting (e.g. Question Time Briefs; Questions on Notice, ministerial briefs, correspondence, etc). Provide secretariat support for the monthly Program Board meetings, including coordinating meeting logistics, collaborating with project teams on submission papers ensuring the highest quality of the papers, preparing agendas and minutes, and managing the action register. Play a lead role within the project in managing key relationships with ACT Government stakeholders. Lead the creation and appropriate management of governance documents in accordance with the Territory Records Act 2002. Operate with sensitivity and compliance to the Territorys principles and ethical standards, with special regard to probity, transparency and honesty. Contribute to additional responsibilities as needed to support team and organisational objectives. Adhere to and promote an awareness of the principles of the Respect Equity and Diversity (RED) Framework, Work Health and Safety, the ACT Public Service Values and Signature Behaviours and workforce diversity to maintain a safe, healthy and fair workplace environment. The Assistant Director, Project Governance and Board Secretariat will report to the Delivery Housing Senior Director Strategic Housing Delivery and Performance. Eligibility/ Other Requirements: Desirable: Demonstrated working knowledge of government business activities in an infrastructure project environment is highly desirable and will be an advantage. Relevant tertiary qualifications (or equivalent experience) in Governance, Management, Project Management will be an advantage. Note: This is a temporary position available immediately until 30 June 2026 with the possibility of extension up to 12 months and/or permanency. A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only. Please note, this position will be moving to a new workplace designed for activity-based working (ABW). Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk.
