Executive Administrative Support OfficerLocation Lidcombe Sydney Employment Type Ongoing FulltimeSalary & Grade Clerk Grade 5/6 $99,938.00 - $110,271.00Your roleAs Executive Administrative Support Officer to the State Coroner, you will provide high-level, professional executive and judicial support to the State Coroner (as Head of Jurisdiction), as well as to the Deputy State Coroners based at Lidcombe Coroners Court. The role is responsible for the efficient and effective flow of information, correspondence and court documentation.The role maintains accurate records and case files, prepares a range of written materials, and supports the State Coroners performance of legislative functions. Operating with considerable independence, the position proactively manages inquiries from diverse stakeholders, escalating matters appropriately while upholding strict confidentiality, professionalism and responsiveness within a highvolume and sensitive environment.What youll do Work within the coronial jurisdiction can expose staff to a range of psychosocial challenges. Frequent engagement with matters involving death, trauma and distressing circumstances can contribute to emotional fatigue, vicarious trauma and compassion strain. The need to support grieving families, manage sensitive information and maintain composure in highpressure situations may heighten stress levels. Staff may also experience cumulative impacts from sustained exposure to traumatic material. These factors underscore the importance of strong personal resilience, professional boundaries and access to appropriate wellbeing supports Provide high-level executive and judicial support to the State Coroner and other Judicial Officers, contributing to effective organisation and efficient judicial operations. Manage the flow of correspondence to the Head of Jurisdiction, determine appropriate actions, prepare routine documentation, and maintain accurate electronic and physical records. Maintain information systems, records management platforms and databases to ensure complete and accurate data capture for coronial and legislative functions. Identify, resolve and, when required, escalate stakeholder queries in a timely and accurate manner to support effective coronial processes. Manage the State Coroners files by accurately recording judicial decisions and orders and maintain communications with legal practitioners, litigants in person, registry officers and other stakeholders such as NSW Police. Support the State Coroner to perform legislative functions, including but not limited to section 29 review applications, section 83 fresh inquest applications and interstate requests from Chief Coroners, and undertaking legal research. Provide professional reception and inquiry-handling services by screening calls, responding to queries and greeting visitors in a manner that upholds the offices professional standards and high-quality client service. What were looking for Law degree or equivalent experience. Demonstrated experience in the provision of executive support services An understanding of the coronial jurisdiction and the functions of the Coroners Act 2009 will be highly regarded. Well-developed keyboard and typing skills for effective data entry, word processing and using email. Very strong interpersonal and communication skills, including negotiation and liaison skills with an excellent command of spelling, punctuation and grammar and an understanding of legal terminology.
