About the RoleDue to the retirement of one of our longstanding chef, we are seeking an experienced and qualified Part-Time Cook/Chef who is passionate about preparing high-quality, nutritious meals. You will be responsible for producing fresh lunch and dinner buffet meals plus morning and afternoon tea daily for 545 guests. This is a permanent part-time role (minimum 64 hours, up to 80 hours per fortnight depending on availability) with an immediate start. Key Duties Prepare and cook fresh, buffet-style meals using a simple seasonal menu, including dietary requirements Must be able to accommodate all common dietary requirements, including vegetarian, vegan, allergies and common dietary restrictions Ensure kitchen and food-preparation areas meet the highest hygiene and food safety standards (HACCP) Manage stock, food storage and rotation to minimise waste Work independently for most shifts (supported by a kitchenhand), while also collaborating with a second cook/chef and hospitality/domestic teams Roster & Hours Shifts: 9:30 am 6:30 pm Roster rotation: 5 days on / 4 days off, then 4 days on / 4 days off MondaySunday rotating roster About YouEssential Criteria: Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent) minimum Minimum 5+ years'' experience in a similar commercial cooking role Strong HACCP and food safety knowledge Current recognised food safety certification required Excellent attention to detail, organisation and work ethic Ability to work independently and unsupervised Effective time management, communication and teamwork skills Current WWCC and National Police Check National Police Check must be issued within the last 3 months National Police Check can be obtained either before applying or after job offer Willing to undergo a pre-employment medical check Full working rights in Australia Passion for delivering high-quality meals and guest service Willingness to embrace the Mission and Values of SSJG Ministries Inc.
