Actively participate in teaching and research activities within the Child Development Unit.PROFESSIONAL AND CLINICALProvide tertiary level assessment and diagnosis of speech, language and related learning difficulties in preschool and school age children, independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team.Document results of assessment which include high level analysis of the presenting language and literacy problem.Provide clinical management which includes:Formulation and delivery of an individual intervention program.Family counseling and feedback.Identification and coordination of appropriate interventions.Liaison with other agencies especially educational services.Monitoring and review of speech, language and literacy.Provide therapy to patients within the designated caseload and ensure a high professional standard of speech and language service within the Unit. Consult with members of the multidisciplinary team, hospital colleagues and other health and educational professionals on relevant speech, language and literacy issues.Provide consultation regarding the development and implementation of Alternative Augmentative Communication (AAC) systems as necessary and appropriate.Participate in teaching and supervision where appropriate.
