Computer System Officer Level 5Temporary Full-Time up to 16 June 2028Sydney Olympic Park$176,910 pa. TheTesting Team Lead is responsible for leading a team of testing personnel that provide professional testing services to improve systems availability, reliability and accuracy of projects and solutions meeting business needs. The position ensures project deliverables are delivered to the agreed standard and are fit for purpose prior to production release.What we are looking for:Testing & Automation ExpertiseAbility to design, execute, and maintain comprehensive manual and automated test casesExperience working with or exposure to automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, JMeter, Postman, or similar)Strong understanding of test planning, test execution, defect management, and regression testingAbility to build reusable test assets and contribute to automation coverage improvementsFocus on ensuring quality throughout the SDLC, not just at the end of the processProject Methodology KnowledgeWorking knowledge of structured project methodologies, including:PRINCE2WaterfallAgile SCRUMAbility to adapt testing approaches to suit methodology constraints (e.g., sprint-based testing, upfront test planning, iterative automation)Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) InsightStrong endtoend understanding of the SDLC with an emphasis on quality gatesDeep involvement in the planning and analysis phases to ensure testability and early defect preventionAbility to identify testing risks, dependencies, and required environments early in the lifecycleDocumentation & Quality ArtefactsHigh attention to detail in documenting test scenarios, test results, traceability matrices, and service mappingProven ability to clearly document technical workflows, business processes, and system behaviours to support testing and automation readinessProductivity & Quality ManagementAbility to support high volumes of testing activity while maintaining strict quality standardsSkilled at prioritising defect resolution, managing test cycles, and balancing speed with qualityContinuous Improvement & Quality CultureStrong drive to enhance test processes, automation frameworks, and documentation practicesComfortable working independently to improve quality or under direction as part of a wider testing strategyEnthusiastic about adopting new tools, test techniques, and automation technologiesAdaptability & Learning MindsetQuick learner who can adapt to evolving applications, technologies, and testing toolsFull training and structured support will be provided to assist with toolsets and internal practicesRole FocusThe core responsibility of this role is application testing and test automation.
