Home Economics Technician Secondary School | Contract (0.2 FTE) | Term 2 to end of academic year Support practical learning in a dynamic classroom South Coast Baptist College (SCBC) is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Home Economics Technician to support our Food Science Technology classroom in the Secondary School. This hands-on role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a kitchen environment, is highly organised, and wants to contribute to a supportive Christian school community. About the role You will support teachers and students in practical food lessons while maintaining a clean, organised and well-stocked learning environment, ensuring high standards of safety and hygiene. Key responsibilities Prepare materials and food for lessons Support students during practical classes Manage stock, ordering and suppliers Maintain kitchen and classroom cleanliness Assist with catering and school events About you Food safety training (City of Rockingham) or a qualification in Hospitality or Commercial Cookery (or similar) Experience working in a commercial kitchen Current drivers licence Comfortable using computers for ordering and admin tasks Able to work well as part of a team Good communication skills with students and adults Physically able to carry out cleaning and organisational tasks Essential requirements A personal faith and commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ. Active participation in a church or Christian community, exemplifying Christian beliefs, behaviour, and practices. Acceptance of the Colleges Statement of Faith. Ability to build cooperative and supportive relationships with the Board, Principal, staff, students, and parents. Commitment to personal best practice. Ensure decisions are impartial, fact-based, and fair. Model appropriate and proper channels of communication. Consistently act in the best interests of the College and its ethos.
