About CleaningServicesThe NSW Governments reforms to public sector cleaning services entail the NSW Department of Education taking over management of the states Whole-of-Government cleaning contracts from January 1, 2026. A team has beenestablishedto deliver an enhanced Whole-of-Government cleaning contract for alignment and delivery of all program streams. Including Governance, ITD, Recruitment and Risk Management. About the roleThis role supports the delivery of highquality, compliant cleaning services across a diverse mix of rural and metropolitan schools, each with unique needs and expectations.Youllcoordinate scheduled and urgent cleaning,maintainaccuratecontractor records, andassistwith performance monitoring while also supporting the team with complex enquiries to ensure efficient,customerfocusedresolutions. Working across a large hybrid region,youllcontribute to a wide variety of tasks that keep services running smoothly and consistently for school communities. Strong organisational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple priorities, tasks, and stakeholders simultaneously Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with schools, contractors, and internal teams Proven ability to manage competing demands across a wide geographic area, adapting quickly to changing needs and urgent requests Experience in contract management, facilities maintenance, finance, and/or customer service highly regarded but not essential, with transferable skills welcomed A solid understanding of WHS, compliance, and risk requirements, and the ability to apply these in day-to-daydecisionmaking A commitment to delivering highquality, customerfocused service outcomes for school communities Alignment with the values of public education and a genuine interest in supporting safe, clean, andwell-maintainedlearning environments Key Knowledge and Experience Knowledge of cleaning service delivery standards and contractor management processes Understanding of compliance, WHS, and risk requirements relevant to facilities. Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the DepartmentsAboriginal Education Policyand upholding theDepartments Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECGand to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people. Essential requirements of the role Current drivers licence and willingness to travel across the assigned region. Current and valid Working with Children Check clearance for paid employment. Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to thevalue of public education.
