The Team: This role works within the Office of the Executive Director Nursing and Midwifery Services Hospitals South The role works within a dynamic team environment assisting in driving organisational wide nursing and midwifery clinical governance, quality improvement and safety culture activities This role provides the opportunity for professional growth and leadership opportunities by working collaboratively with professional disciplines and clinical areas across organisation. The Role: Under the broad direction of the Nursing Director - Nursing and Midwifery Clinical Governance, the Clinical Nurse Consultant NMCGU role provides leadership to support the provision and delivery of high healthcare standards, including coordinating best-practice, and safety and quality systems for Nursing and Midwifery across Hospitals South. The role contributes to leading a professional governance, practice improvement and a safety and quality culture for Hospitals South to support nursing and midwifery teams and others achieve strategic objectives relating to improved healthcare standards. The CNC NMCGU role: Has a high level of professional clinical leadership expertise and practice. Has a high level of communication skills and collaborative decision making. Works collaboratively in a business partnership model across clinical services and professional disciplines to apply the principles of effective nursing and midwifery clinical governance in supporting patient care improvement initiatives aligned with Nursing and Midwifery Sensitive Indicators (NMSI''s). Applies professional and clinical expertise in collaboration with stakeholders. Provides positive role modelling throughout the organisation and applies best practice principles across all areas of their portfolio. You will need: Demonstrated advanced clinical expertise with an awareness and understanding of contemporary health service delivery that ensures optimal patient care/outcomes, and the ability to share information with others, assisting them to adapt to change. Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of NMSIs, the NSQHS, Clinical Care and Professional Standards, and other relevant health service legislation and clinical governance systems and processes, and how these impact on the delivery of patient care services. Demonstrated experience and ability to guide and motivate a multidisciplinary team in the development, implementation and evaluation of quality improvement and clinical risk management activities to facilitate the application of Department, Health Service and NM strategic priorities that support professional, operational and organisational sustainability with a culture of accountability and transparency in achieving outcomes.
