There are multiple positions available across the following areas: Investigations&Enforcement Construction Engineering Infrastructure and Renewables Operations Metro Psychosocial Programs Response Services Silica & Dust Diseases Third Party Verification About you As an Assistant StateInspector,youwillmanage complex, highrisk and highprofile matters, contribute to prevention initiatives and represent SafeWork NSW as a trusted regulatoryauthority.Youll bring strong regulatory experience, sound judgement and the confidence to operate autonomously across diverse industries and environments. In addition to the technical skills required,you will bring: Advanced investigative and analytical capability, leading complex inspections, investigations and audits, assessing risk and making defensible, evidencebased regulatory decisions. Clear, authoritative and adaptable communication, translatinglegislative and technical requirements into practical guidance for diverse audiences. Resilience, judgement and courage, responding professionally to serious incidents, fatalities and highprofile matters. Strong stakeholder influence, building credibility with industry, workers, unions and government partners to drive compliance and improve safety outcomes. Integrity and accountability, consistently upholding regulatory standards and public sector values. To be successfulas a SafeWork NSW Assistant State Inspector, you must: Successfully complete all mandatory preemployment checks, including a medical assessmentto confirm capacity to meet the physical and psychological requirements of the role. Hold and maintain avalid driverslicencealong witha satisfactorydriving record. Commit to complete the 12-month New Inspector Training Program (NITP) for the awarding of the Diploma in Government (Workplace Inspection),delivered by SafeWork NSWs Registered Training Organisation. This includes induction, classroom and online learning, assessments, and extensive field-based training with regular travel across the Sydney metropolitan area. Proceed to complete therequired units of theAdvanced Diploma of Government (WorkplaceInspection) following the attainment of theDiploma in Government (Workplace Inspection). Meet all essential requirements detailed in theRoleDescription and comply with mandatory pre-employment screening in line with SafeWork NSW policies, procedures, and relevant legislation.
