This next phase brings new and exciting opportunities to join us in shaping the new way where you can help design smarter regulations, improve customer experiences, and make a real difference for the people of NSW.About the teamsThese roles sit within NSW Fair Tradings, across various branches, such as Rental and Strata & Property Service.Rental Branch, Mediation teamFor Rental Branch, the role is part of the Mediation Team which sits within the Compliance and Resolution Directorate. The teams objective is to provide impartial, timely voluntary proactive mediation and guidance helping parties reach agreement, resolving disputes early, and preventing escalation to NCAT where appropriate. The team works collaboratively to uphold rental laws, proactively manage risks, and protect the rights of tenants and landlords across NSW to encourage and maintain trust in the rental system.Strata & Property Services, Mediation teamFor the Strata & Property Branch, the role is part of the Strata & Property Services Mediation Team. The mediation team works to ensure fair, risk-based and impactful regulation of the strata and property industry in NSW and uphold the rights and responsibilities of all participants in NSWs strata and property services industry. The main focus of the team is to provide a free alternative dispute resolution service for residents of NSW who live in or own a property in strata and community schemes, retirement villages and residential land lease communities.Ifyouresomeone who:Thinks deeply about the needs of people and communities,Is motivated by great outcomes, not just processes, andWants to be part of anorganisationthatstransforming how regulation works thentheresa place for you in our future.Join us as we build a Fair Tradingthatsfit for the future onethatscustomer-centred, evidence-driven, and proudly focused on public value.About the RoleNSW Fair Trading is looking for driven and passionate people who want to make a difference for the people of NSW.What Youll DoAnalyseand evaluate mediation applications todeterminesuitability andjurisdiction.Manage a caseload of mediation matters to ensuretimelyand high-quality outcomes.Facilitate mediation sessions via telephone, online, or in person to support parties in resolving disputes.Maintainaccuraterecords and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and procedures.Contribute to continuous improvement of practices and support knowledge sharing across the team.To Be Successful in This Role You Will HaveStrong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with diverse customers.Proven ability to manage multiple cases and meet performance standards.Demonstrated neutrality and professionalism in conflict resolution.Ability to interpret and apply legislation and mediation procedures.Strong teamwork and collaboration skills in a fast-paced environment.Ability and willingness to facilitate face-to-face, telephone, and online mediations as directed.Demonstrated understanding of dispute resolution principles.Excellent communication, organisational, and stakeholder engagement skillsEssential Criteria:Appropriate qualifications and/or relevant mediation or industry experience.When ApplyingProvide a cover letter (maximum 2 pages) and resume (maximum 5 pages) that outline your experience and how you meet the roles key capabilities.Salary Grade 5/6, with the base salary for this role starting at $99938 base plus superannuationClick Here to access the Role Description.
