About the role: Our client is a large Commonwealth department central to the Australian Governments economic agenda, delivering programs across industry, science and resources. The CIO Division provides enterprise ICT capability and is scaling its test and quality assurance function to support a portfolio of major digital initiatives.Responsibilities: You will work as an Automation Tester within the CIO Division, embedded in multidisciplinary project teams delivering web-based applications. You will create and execute test plans, drive automation testing practices, and lead User Acceptance Testing with business stakeholders. Create, execute and maintain test plans, cases and strategies using Azure DevOps Test digital solutions for WCAG conformance and raise/track defects through departmental tools Lead and engage with business stakeholders throughout UAT processes Provide input into testing strategy and support implementation of automation testing practices Work within agile and traditional delivery teams alongside developers, BAs and architects Essential criteria please do not apply unless you meet all of the following: Demonstrated experience and expertise in automation testing and application/system tester roles Expertise in developing test artefacts, including writing, reviewing and executing complex test plans, cases and test strategies Ability to collaborate within cross-functional teams of Product Owners, BAs, Architects, developers and SMEs Ability to work in a fast-paced agile environment with geographically dispersed teams Thorough knowledge of testing digital solutions for WCAG conformance Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to engage with non-technical stakeholders You must hold a current Baseline security clearance at commencement this is non-negotiable as the role requires immediate access to PROTECTED information and systems Desirable: Experience developing test plans/cases for custom applications including the Azure and Microsoft suite Experience tracking and managing test plans and cases through Azure DevOps Experience guiding UAT activities This is a well-established ICT division within a large department that values quality delivery and pragmatic problem-solving. Teams operate in both agile and traditional delivery environments, with multiple test resources engaged across the division.
