This includes preventing and responding to breaches of rental laws,identifyinggaps and areas for improvement, and designing and implementing rental initiatives that improve outcomes for renters, propertyproviders,and the broader rental market. The team works closely with industry, communitystakeholdersand government partners to deliverhigh quality workaligned with Government priorities and emerging issues.About the RoleAs thePrincipal AdvisorRental, you will lead and manage the Rental BranchsStrategic Advice, Engagement and Education team.Reporting directly to the Rental Commissioner, you will play a critical role in shaping rental policy and regulatory responses, providing highquality advice to the Rental CommissionerandFair TradingExecutive, and driving evidencebased insights to support decisionmaking on complexandimportantissuesaffecting the rental sector.You will manage a team of engagement, education and insights advisors and work with a broadnetworkof stakeholdersto inform and implement effectiverental regulationby translating sector, operational, and market insights intotimelyadvice, recommendations, education, and targeted engagement.Your Responsibilities Will IncludeProviding expert information and advice, informed by industry, customers,stakeholdersand market insights, to support policy and regulatory decisionmakingEducating stakeholders and supporting compliance with relevant legislation,codesand standardsManaging stakeholder and partnership relationships through effective communication,negotiationand issues management to support the delivery oforganisationalobjectivesMaintaining specialist regulatory knowledge of rental legislation,policyand guidance material, and acting as a subject matter expert for managers and team membersEstablishing andmaintainingeffective and transparent reporting routines toidentifytrends, risks,opportunitiesand performance insightsOverseeing research activities and developing recommendations to support evidencebased interventions aligned to Government andorganisationalprioritiesInterpreting and translating complex data and information into clear, compelling communications, using storytelling techniques todemonstratethe public value and community benefits of government initiatives.About YouWe areseekinga resultsdriven and strategic professional who brings:Experience and knowledge of housing policy, rentalmarketsand/or housing economicsDemonstrated experience preparing highquality internal and external briefings, reports and presentations for senior executives,governmentand the public.Strong leadership,planningand stakeholder management capability, including managing competing interestsProven ability to manage complex workflows, meet critical deadlines and deliver highquality outcomesConfidence in communicating and building productive relationships across diverse business and stakeholder environmentsStrong analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex or aggregated data into clear insights and practical recommendationsTertiary qualifications and/or relevant professional experience in community development, governance, business, public policy,economicsor a related field.When ApplyingProvide a cover letter (maximum 2 pages) and resume (maximum5pages) that outlines your experience and how you meet the roles key capabilities.Salary Grade 11/12, with the base salary for this role starting at $149739 base plus superannuationClick Here to access the Role Description.
