Ongoing Full-Time Located in Parramatta with flexible work arrangements available Salary: Clerk Grade 11/12 with salary ranging from $149,739 to $173,174 + super and annual leave loading Lead a high-performing team delivering accurate financial reporting and governance About the roleThe Manager, Operational Accounting & Reporting manages the execution and oversight of key financial accounting processes, controls and quality assurance activities. The role ensures the accurate and effective recording and reporting of financial transactions in alignment with departmental accounting policies, governance frameworks, and NSW Treasury requirements.You will lead the delivery and continuous improvement of operational accounting processes, working closely with Finance teams and Shared Services to maintain strong financial governance and reporting outcomes.For further information please click here to view the role descriptionAbout youYou are an experienced finance leader with strong accounting and reporting knowledge and a passion for improving financial processes and controls.To succeed in this role, you will bring: Extensive experience managing month-end close processes, reconciliations, and general ledger controls Strong knowledge of accounting standards and financial reporting requirements Ability to identify and manage financial risks, controls, and process improvements Strong stakeholder engagement and coordination skills Proven leadership experience developing high-performing teams Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Key knowledge and experience Extensive experience in applying Australian accounting standards and NSW Treasury accounting and reporting policies and requirements Extensive experience leading operational accounting and reporting activity in a large complex organisation High level of experience with financial accounting and reporting risk identification and implementation of fit for purpose financial governance, processes and controls Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Departments Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Departments Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people. Essential requirements of the role Degree in accounting or finance discipline and membership of a recognised Australian professional accounting association Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
