We currently have an opportunity for a Payroll Officer to join our People and Culture team on a temporary full-time basis. Key responsibilities as Payroll Officer End to end weekly payroll processing using TechnologyOne in accordance with the Local Government Award and Council policies. Maintain accurate payroll records in TechnologyOne, including processing new starters, employment changes, leave, allowances, and termination payments. Provide payroll system support to employees and managers. Respond to and resolve employee payroll enquiries in a professional and timely manner. Prepare payroll reports when required to support compliance, management reporting, and decision making. Manage superannuation, taxation and other statutory payroll obligations, including payroll reconciliations. What we offer... Temporary full-time position, 35 hours per week for nine months with the possibility of extension Commencing annual salary from $70,119 to $77,306 (salary is dependent on qualifications, skills and experience) Plus 12% superannuation What you''ll need to be successful in the role... The successful candidate will demonstrate well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, together with a strong commitment to customer service. Proven experience in end-to-end payroll processing and the ability to interpret awards, agreements, contracts of employment and relevant employment legislation are essential. Additionally, the successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following: A high level of computer skills including payroll software, Microsoft Excel and Word Well-developed data-entry skills with the ability to enter data accurately and promptly Sound numeracy skills with the ability to complete complex calculations and reconciliations The ability to produce and interpret reports The ability to work both independently and as an effective team member Strong commitment to administrative tasks that are repetitious and deadline driven. Although not essential, it would be beneficial to have any of the following: Certificate IV in Payroll or Human Resources Experience using the Technology One Payroll/HRIS System, and/or TRIM Document Management Experience working in Local Government.
