Rumbalara Aboriginal Cooperative Justice & Community Services now has the following vacancy at our Shepparton Office Aboriginal Youth Justice Worker Full-time | 38 hours per week This is an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander designated position, classified under Section 12 Special Measures of the Equal Opportunity Act (2010). Since 1980, we have proudly provided holistic, culturally safe services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities across the Goulburn Valley. We deliver services across: Health & Wellbeing Positive Ageing & Disability Services Justice & Community Services Asset & Infrastructure / Housing Family, Care and Early Years Corporate Services We are committed to ensuring our people have access to quality, community-controlled services that strengthen family, culture, and community About the Role As an Aboriginal Youth Justice Worker, you will provide culturally responsive support to Aboriginal young people involved in, or at risk of entering, the youth justice system. You will: Support young people, families, and community to strengthen cultural identity and wellbeing Deliver cultural, recreational, and educational programs Develop and support Aboriginal Cultural Support Plans Advocate for clients across service systems Work collaboratively with key stakeholders including DJCS, DFFH, Police, legal services, and community organisations This role is part of a multidisciplinary team working to achieve positive outcomes for young people. About You Youwill bring: Qualification in Youth Work, Community Services or related field (or willingness to obtain) Strong understanding of Aboriginal culture, community, and key social issues Knowledge of factors contributing to youth justice system involvement Experience in case management and supporting complex client needs Strong communication and relationship-building skills Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Excellent organisation and time management skills Sound computer skills and record-keeping capability What We Offer: Salary packaging of $15,900 available for Part- or Full-time employees.
