Teacher of Media - Paid to Learn Campus Location: Ultimo 2 x permanent part-time (21 hours per week) Package range: $111,798 - $132,585. Package includes salary ($98,499-$116,813 per annum paid pro-rata) employer''s superannuation and annual leave loading. (Salary offered will be based on experience). About the role We''re seeking experienced and passionate Journalists (Radio, TV or Digital) to inspire the next generation of Media, Journalism and Social Media students by joining our team of teachers on a permanent part-time basis (21 hours per week) at our Ultimo Campus. The role is ideal for a media professional who thrives in storytelling, live environments, and fast-paced news production, and is ready to share their industry knowledge with emerging content creators. To find out more about the role, click to view the Role Description. About You You have journalistic experience with strong editorial judgment, on-air presence, and digital storytelling capability. You bring real-world experience from radio, television or digital newsrooms, and understand how journalism continues to evolve across platforms. You are confident both in front of the camera or microphone and behind the scenes, with the ability to guide students through the full production process, from idea to publication. Essential Requirements: Have appropriate subject knowledge, skills and vocational qualifications with a minimum level of Diploma of Screen and Media or equivalent. Evidence of holding the appropriate teaching qualifications to deliver Vocational Education and Training (see the candidate support document (here) for details) OR a willingness to undertake our full time 14 week ''Paid to Learn'' course. Have a minimum of three (3) years post qualification experience in journalism, broadcasting or media. Highly regarded but not essential: Experience working in a radio station, newsroom, television studio or live broadcast environment with news writing, scripting and editorial storytelling skills Experience in live streaming, digital news production, or multiplatform publishing Strong understanding of how journalism integrates with social media, audience engagement and analytics Ability to teach students how to create engaging, platform-specific content(e.g. reels, short-form video, podcast segments) Demonstrated ability in presenting(on-air radio, TV reporting, or digital presenting) Proficiency in tools such as Adobe Audition, Premiere Pro, CapCut, Canvaor similar with the ability to edit audio and video content quicklyfor multi-platform delivery Paid to Learn: for candidates who do not hold an appropriate VET teaching qualification or equivalent, you have the option to be paid to learn as you transition from industry to teaching with guaranteed work following successful completion of the 14 weeks Training and Assessment course. Those who already hold the appropriate teaching qualification or equivalent are still eligible to apply.
