Job Description

Mount Barker District Council is seeking an experienced Graphic Designer to support the delivery of effective communications and engagement activities. This role is responsible for providing high-quality, consistent, and accessible graphic design services that support clear communication, strengthen the Councils brand, and maintain professional standards across all visual outputs. Key Responsibilities Deliver graphic design services for campaigns, publications, and digital communications Provide specialist design advice and guidance to internal stakeholders Apply and maintain brand guidelines, style standards, and communication frameworks Collaborate with internal teams to develop effective visual communication materials Ensure all design outputs meet accessibility requirements and organisational standards Liaise with external suppliers, including printers, media outlets, and signage providers Undertake basic photography and asset management where required Contribute to continuous improvement of design processes and outputs Skills and Experience Significant experience in a graphic design role within a large and complex organisation Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and related design tools Strong knowledge of design principles, including typography, layout, and colour theory Demonstrated ability to produce design work across print and digital formats Experience working in public-facing or politically sensitive environments Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities Well-developed communication and collaboration skills Mount Barker District Council is committed to creating and supporting a diverse workforce.
