Our services range from health promotion, prevention and early detection through to assessment, treatment and continuing care. Our staff work in partnership with schools, GPs, hospitals, non-government agencies and other organisations to provide care across our centres, in peoples homes, other community venues as well as virtual care (telehealth).We are currently seeking a part-time permanent Occupational Therapist to join our Primary Care and Community Health Team, based at Springwood Community Health Centre. Opportunities to work from other Community Health Centre locations may be negotiated for the right applicant.The Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District Child and Family Occupational Therapy team provides assessment and intervention services for children up to eight years of age who present with mild developmental concerns or learning difficulties. Services are delivered within Community Health Centres across the Penrith and Blue Mountains Local Government Areas. The team works closely within a multidisciplinary framework, collaborating with speech pathology, physiotherapy, counselling, and nursing services to support children and their families.This role involves delivering high-quality paediatric occupational therapy services to children and families within a community health setting. The Level 3 Occupational Therapist provides a specialist service, including triaging and prioritising referrals, and works autonomously using advanced clinical judgement with minimal direct supervision. The successful applicant will demonstrate proven ability to work independently with children and families experiencing varying levels of vulnerability, apply advanced reasoning and problem-solving skills, communicate effectively, and draw on a broad knowledge of community resources and services.
