Primary objective Provide high quality, customer focused, efficient and effective processing, information and advice in the issuing of licences, permits and authorities across the broad range of legislative frameworks administrated by the division. Key duties and responsibilities 1. Process licence and permit applications under the Liquor Act 2019 including examination, assessment and evaluation of all relevant information and make recommendations for approval or otherwise to the delegate. 2. Prepare correspondence, reports and briefs and make recommendations for approval, refusal, suspension, revocation of licence. permit applications. 3. Update and maintain the licensing systems and databases for regulatory and performance reporting requirements. 4. Provide advice to applicants and other stakeholders regarding licence and permit applications, application of the legislation and other matters as required. 5. Assist in on the job training of less experienced staff and contribute to the development of work plans and team goals. 6. Participate in compliance programs when required. Selection criteriaEssential 1. Demonstrated personal drive, integrity and confidentiality. 2. Ability to interpret, apply and explain legislation, policy and procedures applicable in a regulatory framework. 3. Experience using various software packages including spreadsheets and database applications and competence maintaining data integrity. 4. Well-developed oral and written communication skills, including experience preparing correspondence, reports and briefs. 5. Well-developed interpersonal skills, including experience providing quality customer service and operating as an effective team member. 6. Demonstrated sound judgement and analytical skills, including the ability to apply initiative, prioritise and manage workload in an environment subject to pressure and deadlines. Desirable 1. Previous knowledge and experience with this or a similar regulatory/licensing framework.
