Education Assistant Full Time - Fixed Term Contract About us: Rockingham Montessori School is a co-educational Pre Kindy Yr 12 School with over 300 students with sites located in Rockingham and Port Kennedy. Our School is small by design and has a wonderful community feel where every child and family is treated as an individual. Description: We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Education Assistant to join the Adolescent Program at our Port Kennedy site. About the role: The role involves assisting the Teachers in our School to provide a wonderful Montessori learning environment in which each child can grow to their full potential in all spheres of their development social, intellectual, emotional, physical and spiritual in accordance with Montessori philosophy. The role of the EA includes preparation of equipment and tasks, assistance and supervision of students in their classes, working as a collaborative member of the educational team, to achieve the best outcomes for every child. The EA will: Support the philosophy and ethos of Rockingham Montessori School. Support the personal, social and intellectual development of students in keeping with the Montessori philosophy. Establish and maintain a positive learning environment and respond to the individual needs of students; and Support the teachers to establish and maintain the best possible Montessori learning environment. Skills and experience: The position would suit an enthusiastic EA who has completed a Cert IV in Education Support and has completed or is undertaking AMI Montessori training or is familiar with Montessori principles and learning environments and is willing to undertake the relevant training. Knowledge of Sounds Write is desirable.
