Our vision is to maintain confidence in the integrity of the democratic process and make it easy for people to understand and participate.Our work includes:Running and regulating electionsCommunicating and engaging with current and future voters, key NSW community stakeholders and NSW election participants; andInvestigating possible offences and enforcing electoral and lobbying laws such as the Electoral Act 2017 and the Electoral Funding Act 2018.About the roleThe Network and Security Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the network and security infrastructure to ensure that network is reliable and to safeguard the network perimeter and internal segments across both on-premise and cloud environments.We are seeking someone with strong technical skills and experience to support existing network and security infrastructure and assist with various network and security uplift projects within the Technology group. This is an exciting time to spread your wings and continue to build on your expertise.This role is based in at our Elizabeth Street, Sydney office with a hybrid work arrangement. Further information can be found in the Role Description.Key knowledge, experience and essential requirementsExtensive experience in and expert knowledge of configuring and supporting complex hybrid cloud infrastructure (e.g. on-premise and public cloud in Azure) and their respective network security, local area and wide area networks (including site to site VPN and SD WAN networks) and on-prem network infrastructure technologies and tools (firewalls, switches, access points, routers and load balancers).Proven experience with network security technology and tools, including VPN technologies, Network Access Control (NAC) aligned with Zero Trust architecture, Identity and Access Control, IPS/IDS, web security gateway, Next-Generation Firewalls, SIEM tools and vulnerability assessment tools.Experience in managing network infrastructure that supports cloud-based phone systems (e.g. MS Teams platform) and contact centre management systems (e.g. Nice CXOne).Strong understanding of the TCP/IP protocol suite, routing and switching, and common application layer protocols from a security perspective.Strong understanding of and experience with security frameworks, particularly Essential Eight.Relevant tertiary qualifications in information technology or related fields and/or equivalent relevant professional experience.Politically neutral with no affiliation to political parties or lobbyists/campaigners.Satisfactory criminal record check result.What we offerOpportunity to work on large scale events and assist your local community Career development opportunities through study and face to face trainingAccess to self-paced expert-led training via LinkedIn LearningEmployee Assistance Program for wellbeing supportStaff social events to connect with colleaguesWork/Life balance (35 hour working week), flex leave, generous holidays and leave conditionsAccess to Fitness Passport for eligible staffFree annual flu vaccinationConvenient CBD location, access to public transportHow to applyAs part of your application, you will be asked to respond to the two targeted questions:Share an example of how you quickly adapted to a new technology or tool in your network and security engineering experience.
