About the Role The Senior Planner is responsible for leading and administering Councils development assessment functions under the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act 2016 and associated legislation during a period of sustained growth. Key Responsibilities Administer Councils obligations for development assessment under the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act 2016 and related legislation. Undertake timely, accurate, and transparent assessment and enforcement of all types of Development Applications. Contribute to maintaining and enhancing an up-to-date Planning and Design Code through research, investigation, and preparation of urban planning policy. Collaborate across the organisation to foster a cohesive, customer-focused culture in development assessment. Ensure high standards of professionalism, probity, legislative compliance, customer service, and efficiency. Represent Council in complex matters, including proceedings in the Environment, Resources and Development Court. Support continuous improvement in planning systems, processes, and technology.
