About Taylor Rail Australia: At Taylor Rail Australia, we provide rail maintenance and construction services to clients across Australias public and private rail sectors. Due to continued growth, we are looking for a Plant Mechanic to join our busy and supportive team, based in Unanderra and Port Kembla, with occasional work away from home. About the Role: Experienced Plant Mechanic to carry out preventative maintenance and repairs on heavy plant, rail equipment and machinery. This role suits a self-motivated tradesperson with strong diagnostic skills and a commitment to safety. Key Responsibilities: Service and repair minor plant, earthmoving equipment, and trucks Diagnose and repair engine, hydraulic, pneumatic, and auto-electrical systems Overhaul rail-specific plant and machinery Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records Work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision Comply with all site safety, network rules, and procedures Travel and work away from home when required Mandatory Requirements: Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology with relevant Hydraulic competency Current drivers license Rail Industry Worker (RIW) card SARC qualification (or willingness to obtain) Category 1 or Category 3 Rail medical or willingness to obtain Fit for work, including compliance with fatigue, drug, and alcohol requirements Own tools of trade Desirable Requirements (Not Essential): Track Vehicle Operator (TVO) competency and qualification Current truck license Experience working on rail-specific plant, including resurfacing machines Experience in rail construction and maintenance works About you: Have a safety-first attitude to work Be able to follow instructions and communicate clearly Follow site safety and the Network rules and Procedures at all times How to Apply Submit your application through Seek Attach both a Resume and Cover Letter Note:Pay will be commensurate with qualifications and experienceAustralian Citizens/Permanent Residents only.Only short listed applicants will be contacted.
