Global Sisters is a national, award-winning nonprofit dedicated to breaking down barriers to women '' s economic security. A vital aspect of Global Sisters mission is our place-based, collective impact strategy, called Place & Community, which acknowledges that womens journeys toward economic security is significantly influenced by local systems, relationships, and access to opportunities. The Place & Community Lead will be located in Armidale, regional NSW, and is responsible for leading Global Sisters Armidale Place work. This position works at two levels: 1. Developing a place-based, Collective Impact Group - creating common goals, shared measurement and streams of work in an inclusive economic development plan for Armidale. 2. Delivering the Global Sisters stream of work locally - that is focused on women '' s self-employment and enhancing broader economic security outcomes in Armidale and supporting the implementation of our grassroots system change initiatives. Collaborating closely with the Head of Place and the national Place team, you will create practical, collaborative strategies that translate our overarching vision into local action and ownership. As one of the two pilot sites, you will play an important role in the growth of Place & Community across Australia through the Learning Circle. This position is ideal for someone with a background in local economic development working across government, business and philanthropy. You will be resilient and solutions focused. Comfortable navigating various sectors and can effectively balance strategic leadership with hands-on deliver of programs with women. You will play a key role in positioning Global Sisters as a trusted partner and leader in community economic development and women '' s economic security through collective impact in Armidale. Key responsibilities include: Reporting directly to the Head of Place & Community, you will be responsible for bringing our Armidale Place & Community strategy to life: Build and maintain trusted relationships across Armidale '' s local ecosystem: council, community organisations, business and philanthropy. Convene and grow the Armidale Collective Impact Group (CIG) - bringing together diverse stakeholders around shared goals for women '' s economic security. Facilitate the group toward common measurement, aligned action, and genuine local ownership. Support women in Armidale into self-employment and economic security through Global Sisters programs and pathways. Identify and develop innovative local projects and broker partnerships that link to women '' s economic security. You see opportunity where others see gaps. Connect Sisters to the right resources, networks, and support, and ensure their voices inform local strategy. Champion the SEER Impact Dashboard locally. Contribute and use local data and evidence that tells Armidales story in a way that contributes to wider systems change. As one of Global Sister '' s pilot sites, actively share learnings, challenges, and insights with the national Place Learning Circle. Represent Global Sisters as a credible, locally-rooted partner in community economic development. Who would this role suit? The ideal candidate will have some or all of the following Hands-on experience in place-based, collective impact or community development at a delivery level, rather than purely policy or funding. Confidence in building trusted relationships and navigating multi-stakeholder dynamics, including with First Nations communities and organisations Ability to bring together people from very different sectors and from all walks of life, enabling local leadership to hold a shared agenda Solutions-focused and resilient, with the ability to work autonomously while partnering closely with the central Place & Community team Clear, confident and grounded written and verbal communication skills - you must be equally comfortable presenting to a council committee or sitting with a woman starting her first business Direct experience of running micro-business, either your own or helping others set up in selfemployment.
