Are you interested in trucks, plant and heavy vehicles and keen to learn a highly in-demand trade? CDC Canberra are seeking a motivated Heavy Vehicle AutoElectrical Apprentice to join our busy workshop at our Queanbeyan Depot learning the trade while working on a large fleet of modern buses. About the Role Working under the guidance of the experienced Workshop Team, you will receive hands-on training while completing a nationally recognised apprenticeship. During your apprenticeship, you will gain handson experience in: Electrical servicing and maintenance of buses and heavy vehicles Assisting with routine, scheduled and breakdown repairs Diagnostic testing and fault finding using computerbased systems Troubleshooting electrical defects reported by drivers Repair and replacement of electrical components and systems Completing job cards and recording work performed under supervision Working safely in a heavy vehicle workshop environment Understanding workplace safety, quality and environmental standards About You We are looking for someone who is reliable, practical and eager to learn. Ideally, you will have: A genuine interest in autoelectrics, heavy vehicles or mechanical trades Completed Year 10 or higher (preapprenticeship studies advantageous but not essential) A positive attitude and strong work ethic Willingness to follow instructions and learn from others Good attention to detail and problemsolving skills Ability to work well in a team and take direction A current drivers licence and reliable transport Commitment to WHS and following policies and procedures Present to work fit for duty and committed to safe work practices What We Offer Full-time paid apprenticeship with structured training Ongoing support and mentoring from qualified Auto Electricians Exposure to a large, modern heavy vehicle fleet A supportive and inclusive team environment Strong safety culture and professional systems Long-term career opportunities within a national and global organisation To Apply Sound interesting?
