CDC delivers plans for cyber incident recovery and response, develops bespoke intelligence of the cyber landscape and issues alerts for vulnerabilities impacting systems used by NSW Government agencies.About the roleCyber Security NSW is seeking a Cyber DevSecOps Engineer to join the Capability and Development team, to support and optimise the organisations ICT systems and cloud infrastructure to ensure secure, reliable operations. In this hands-on role, you will work collaboratively with internal teams and external vendors to deliver cyber security solutions through continuous monitoring, incident and request management, process improvement and reporting.Key responsibilitiesSecure Systems & Cloud Engineering: Design, build and maintain secure scalable ICT systems and cloud environments that support both development and production workloads. Apply industry best practices, standards and automation to ensure platforms are stable, well-documented, and capable of supporting evolving business needs while enabling smooth platform transitions.Cyber Security Operations & Automation: Embed and maintain automated security controls to detect vulnerabilities early and protect high security environments. Monitor system performance, security posture, and compliance through analysis and reporting, ensuring consistency, resilience, and continuous improvement across operations.Vulnerability Management & Security Advisory: Evaluate and translate security findings, including scan results and recommendations, into practical remediation guidance. Collaborate closely with development and technical teams to reduce security risk, strengthen controls, and improve the organisations overall cyber maturity.Stakeholder Collaboration & Service Delivery: Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to resolve technical issues and deliver secure, reliable service outcomes. Provide specialist technical support and advice, acting as a trusted contributor to cross-functional initiatives and operational problem-solving.Risk Management & Future Readiness: Proactively identify business risks and improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency, decision-making, and security outcomes. Support forward-looking initiatives such as Post-Quantum Cryptography readiness to ensure cloud infrastructure remains compliant, resilient and prepared for emerging threats.To be successful in this role you will demonstrateDemonstrated industry experience working in complex IT environments maintaining IT infrastructure / IT platforms as part of BAU.Must be experienced in establishing new processes and frameworks for applications and solutions from the ground up.Strong IT Cloud, infrastructure, networking, Linux OS and operations knowledge with a sound understanding of these components in the delivery of end-to-end business activities.Knowledge of ITIL (desirable) and the ability to interpret code such a Python / Django in a security focused environment (desirable).Must be an Australian Citizen with an ability to obtain and maintain a NV1 level security clearance, and willingness to undergo a criminal history and identity verification and ongoing probity checks as a condition of employment (applicable to Cyber specific roles only).How to applyPlease click Apply Online and submit your application with:A resume (max four pages) detailing relevant knowledge, skills and experience.Answers to the 3 target questions below (two-pages max response):Q1: Can you describe your experience administering AWS environments?
