Job description Federation of Ethnic Communities'' Councils of Australia Job Title: Finance & Administration Officer Location: Canberra City, ACT Hours: Part time - Flexible Remuneration: Dependent on experience About the Role We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organised Finance & Administration Officer to support the operations of a busy team. This role has a strong focus on financial processing, record-keeping, and budget support, alongside some general administrative duties. You will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial management and smooth day-to-day operations. You will report to the Operations Manager and CEO. You will be required to work in the office at two days per week. Key Responsibilities Finance & Accounts Prepare weekly payments, including invoices and expense claims Reconcile corporate credit card expenses and support financial data entry and verification Assist with month-end and year-end processes, including preparation of financial reports and supporting documentation Maintain accurate financial records, systems, and documentation Contribute to financial system maintenance, staff support, and process improvements Support budget tracking, monitoring, and basic financial reporting Financial Coordination & Support Track financial commitments, outstanding payments, and follow-ups Support financial aspects of events, including conferences and workshops Liaise with internal stakeholders and external vendors on payments and financial queries Administration Support Provide general administrative support, including meeting coordination and correspondence Maintain records, databases, and filing systems Assist in documentation of reports Support the Office Manager in HR administration, including recruitment coordination and onboarding About You Experience in a finance, accounts, or bookkeeping role Strong understanding of financial processes (invoicing, payments, reconciliations, budgeting) High level of accuracy and attention to detail Strong organisational, administrative and time management skills Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines Good communication skills and ability to liaise with stakeholders THE ORGANISATION The Federation of Ethnic Communities Councils of Australia (FECCA) is the peak national body representing Australians from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
