Full job descriptionHarbour Quays Aged Care is a 131 place residential aged care facility (also known as a nursing home) located on a waterfront estate overlooking the Biggera Waters canal on the Gold Coast. We provide permanent and respite (short-term) care and secure dementia-specific care in fully furnished private single and couple suites. About the Role Laundry Assistant: Monday-Friday 8am-3pm, Permanent Part-Time We currently have a position available for a laundry assistant working 8am - 3pm Monday to Friday in our onsite laundry. The suitable candidate must be willing to work the occasional weekend and be prepared to fill in as a cleaner on occasions to cover leave. As a Laundry assistant, your role will be required to: Processing of linen and consumers personal items including collecting and washing soiled linen and clothing, drying, folding and transporting clean linen and clothing according to policies and procedures and relevant Duty Statement/s Labelling of consumers personal clothing and laundry items Routine and project cleaning tasks related to the laundry according to documented cleaning schedules. Cleaning tasks include mopping floors, damp dusting, waste management, restocking of supplies. Recording of the completion of laundry and cleaning schedule tasks and monitoring processes Reports items for replacement to the service manager. Maintain legislated safety, quality and hygiene standards Willingness to train as a cleaner and back fill cleaning shifts in the facility if required Your experience: Aged care experience highly regarded but not essential Excellent communication and interpersonal skills An understanding of Resident Rights, Aged Care Quality Standards Flexible availability for a variety of shifts throughout the week Duties: Use your fantastic Laundry / Housekeeping skills in a role where you really can make a difference.
