Closes: 23 April 2026 Classification: Technical Officer Level 4 Salary: $102,657 - $116,592 plus superannuation Position No: 37540 Directorate: City and Environment Advertised (Gazettal date): 09 April 2026 Contact Officer: Mim Jambrecina on or (02) 62375307 Details: The Ranger in Charge position is responsible for the supervision of Park Rangers, Technical Officers and Field Officers in the planning, coordination and delivery of a broad range of conservation and land management programs at Namadgi National Park. The position is outcome focused and works closely with the Area Manager to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of coordinated programs, adhering to the development of operational works and risk management plans. The Ranger in Charge also maintains effective and courteous relationships with all other stakeholders including neighbours, other government agencies and members of the public. Eligibility/ Other Requirements: Essential: A degree in natural resource management with diversified experience of 5-8 years OR equivalent associated natural resource management/environmental science qualifications (e.g. cert IV, associate diploma) AND/OR extensive experience in a relevant field. Manual Drivers licence Desirable Experience undertaking incident management duties including participation in fire standby, suppression and training. Chainsaw Trim and Crosscut Chem Cert III ATV and/or Quad Bike, 4WD First Aid or Remote Area First Aid Workplace Health and Safety Induction (White Card) or willingness to obtain; General Construction Induction Card (White Card) Note: An order of merit will be established from this selection process and may be used to fill future identical vacancies over the next 12 months.
