Job Info Location: Wandi, WA Salary: $60,001 - $80,000 Job Type: Permanent position | Full time position Job DescriptionThe Trustee for Shreeve''s Family Trust About the Position The Retail Loss Prevention Officer is responsible for detecting and investigating shoplifting, fraud, and other unlawful activities within retail environments. The position plays a key role in reducing stock shrinkage through active monitoring, surveillance, and incident response, while maintaining compliance with security procedures and legal requirements. Key Responsibilities Monitor retail premises through CCTV systems and conduct routine patrols to identify suspicious activity Detect and prevent shoplifting, internal theft, and fraudulent behaviour by customers or employees Observe individuals using both overt and covert surveillance techniques to identify potential risks Investigate incidents of theft and misconduct, and prepare accurate and detailed reports Maintain records of incidents, evidence, and daily security activities Conduct loss prevention audits and compliance checks in line with operational procedures Analyse shrinkage trends and report findings to management to assist in risk reduction strategies Liaise with store management, shopping centre security, and law enforcement authorities where required Apprehend offenders in accordance with applicable legislation and company policies Support implementation and continuous improvement of loss prevention procedures across client sites Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety and security requirements at all times Skills and Experience Required Minimum of 1-2 years of relevant experience in retail loss prevention, retail security, or a closely related role Relevant qualification in Security Operations or at least 1-2 years of relevant experience in lieu of formal qualification. Current Western Australian Security Licence Current First Aid Certificate Demonstrated ability to detect and respond to theft and security incidents Experience in CCTV monitoring, surveillance techniques, and incident reporting Strong observation, analytical, and problem-solving skills Ability to manage conflict situations professionally and calmly Effective communication and report-writing skills Understanding of retail operations and stock loss (shrinkage) risks Flexibility to work across a rotating roster, including weekends and peak trading periods Screening Questions Do you have full-time work rights in Australia?
