We are currently seeking a Careers Teacher / Vocational Education and Training Coordinator. TIME ALLOWANCE: This role has a teaching component (0.5FTE) and a time allowance for administrative duties (0.5FTE). PURPOSE OF THE POSITION The role of the Careers Teacher / Vocational Education and Training (VET) coordinator is to establish and oversee the delivery of compliant VET programs in collaboration with the Dean of Learning and Teaching Secondary. The Careers / VET coordinator facilitates collaboration with parents, business, post-secondary institutions, Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) and community groups to support students transition to post-secondary education and employment. KEY RELATIONSHIPS The VET Coordinator is required to work collaboratively with the following people RTOs, community groups, Universities, TAFE, businesses, Kwinana Industry Council, the Principal, Dean of Learning and Teaching Secondary, Dean of Student Services Secondary, Heads of Year, members of the Academic Council, students, and parents. KEY SELECTION CRITERIA Personal Active Church participation, knowledge of and commitment to the ethos and values of Christian education. Qualifications A current and full teaching qualification as recognised by the Teachers Registration Board of Western Australia. Working With Childrens Check (WWCC) National Police Clearance Current Drivers License Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122) (preferred or willingness to undertake and complete). Qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in Careers Education or Career Development, with a Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma in Career Development (or equivalent experience) highly regarded. Ability to teach Year 11 and 12 Career and Enterprise General. Professional Practice A comprehensive knowledge and understanding of; Effective pedagogy in the field of Careers and Vocational Education and Training, Senior secondary pathways including WACE requirements and SCSA policies and procedures, Postschool transition options, and Tertiary, training and employment pathways. Demonstrated experience in coordination and leadership of Vocational Education and Training (VET), Careers Education and/or Workplace Learning programs within a secondary school context. The ability to ensure compliance requirements, including quality assurance, audit readiness, Registered Training Organisation (RTO) partnerships and auspicing arrangements. Highly developed ICT skills required for SEQTA, MAZE, SIRS, audit readiness, reporting accuracy, uploading SCSA VET files, preparing compliance reports and funding applications and audits. Strong understanding and experience with regulatory compliance including RTO, auspicing, audits, funding, WACE, ASQA, AISWA. Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills required when collaborating with Students, parents, staff, businesses, Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) and community groups. Providing targeted pathway advice and career support for students, to enhance engagement, retention and successful postschool transitions. Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional learning including ensuring research based best practice, and participation in and representing the College in professional networks including representation at AISWA, Kwinana Industries Council (KIC) and CSA where related to the role and responsibilities. Proven ability to manage and analyse student and program data accurately, including the use of school and external systems for reporting, compliance and continuous improvement. Highly developed organisational skills, including the ability to plan and manage complex programs and consider labour market trends, budgets, competing deadlines and regulatory requirements with attention to detail.
