The Complex Medical Inpatient Unit (CMIPU) is a purpose built 21 bed unit opening on Level 13 of the Wattle Building in May 2026, designed to support children who require frequent admissions, long term care and highly coordinated support.A key feature of the Unit is Long Term Ventilation (LTV)The LTV provides specialised care for children who require long term ventilation via a tracheostomy. This service offers comprehensive clinical support, education and continuity of care for children and their families as they navigate the complexities of long term respiratory support.
