If youre experienced in WHS, risk, and crowd management for large events, this dynamic role offers an exciting opportunity to make your mark.About usPlacemaking NSW is responsible for managing and caring for some of Sydneys most iconic harbourside venues and locations, including The Rocks, Circular Quay, Barangaroo, Darling Harbour, Sydney Fish Markets Public Spaces and White Bay Power Station. We also lead the planning and delivery of the Bays West Urban Renewal Precinct, a state significant project that will bring new homes, jobs, and public spaces to 77 hectares of government-owned land just 2 kilometres from Sydney''s CBD.The roleThis role sits at the heart of keeping NSWs iconic public places safe, compliant and welcoming. Youll coordinate and oversee daytoday security, safety and risk management activities across busy public domain precincts, working closely with internal teams, service providers and external agencies to support safe operations, events and activations.Youll be handson reviewing plans, monitoring compliance, responding to incidents and emerging risks, and making sure safety controls work in realworld, highfoottraffic environments. Its a role that balances strong governance with practical problemsolving, clear communication and calm decisionmaking in dynamic public settings.For more information read the full Role Description: Coordinator Precinct SecurityWhat you will bring to the role Experience working in public domain or similarly complex environments, such as public spaces, major events, transport precincts and crowded places Practical experience in security operations, WHS, risk, emergency and crowd management, including the review of safety, traffic and crowd management plans Strong understanding of legislative and compliance requirements, including WHS legislation, security and road-related regulations Confidence coordinating and engaging with diverse stakeholders such as tenants, visitors, businesses, landholders, service providers and government agencies Ability to identify and escalate noncompliance, incidents and emerging risks, using data, reporting and sound judgement to support safer outcomes Clear communication skills, with the ability to explain requirements, provide feedback and build cooperation in fastpaced, highvisibility environments Strong organisation and prioritisation skills, managing multiple activities while maintaining consistent, accurate records and controls What is an essential requirement: Class 1 Security Operative Licence minimum Qualifications in WHS or Risk Management and/or related field and/or relevant professional experience. A valid NSW Driver''s license.
