Position InformationCrawford Public School is located in Doonside. The school currently has 380 students enrolled with 25% Aboriginal population (90 students) and approximately 53% of students from Non-English Speaking Backgrounds. The school has a positive partnership with the P and C and the Nurringingy Aboriginal Education Consultative Group. The school focuses on every child as an individual and caters for all learners based on their needs. The Positive Behaviour for Learning Program supports student wellbeing and contributes to a positive school culture as well as our commitment to the the Berry Street Education Model.Selection CriteriaIn addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary and a proven capacity to work and lead collaboratively as part of a team and effectively balance the dual role of an exemplary teacher and the complex responsibilities of an Assistant PrincipalDemonstrated capacity to lead and support collaborative teaching practice, using data effectively to build teacher capacity and improve student outcomes.Demonstrated ability to support teachers and contribute to whole-school student well-being practices designed to meet the well-being needs of all students.Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with evidence of the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents.General Selection Criteria1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department''s Aboriginal education policyConditionsAn unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement.
