This position focuses on identifying and developing strategic event investment, acquisition, and development opportunities that drive economic and social benefits, strengthen Sydney and NSWs position as a leading events destination in the Asia Pacific, and align with the NSW Visitor Economy Strategy 2035. In this role, you will lead business development activities, assess and enhance the existing events portfolio, and support the design, delivery, and evaluation of regional event funding and grant programs. You will engage with industry, government, and business stakeholders to maximise event outcomes, negotiate contracts and contributions, and prepare high-quality reports, briefs, and presentations. Additionally, you will contribute to strategic planning, performance measurement, and process improvements to ensure effective management and delivery of NSWs event investment priorities. You have excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills, with experience building strategic partnerships and working collaboratively with event owners, industry, and government. You are highly organised, capable of managing multiple projects and contracts, and confident preparing reports, briefs, and presentations on complex issues. You bring a proactive and evidence-based approach to identifying and securing unique, long-term event opportunities that deliver economic, social, and strategic benefits across NSW. You have a detailed understanding of the event industry, including marketing, media valuation, and promotional strategies, and are able to develop existing events to maximise their value and impact.
