Manager, Event Investment Join Destination NSW, the champion and voice for the visitor economy within the NSW Government Clerk Grade 9/10 position with a salaryrange$129,464 - $142,665 per annum plus superannuation Ongoing role located in The Rocks, Sydney About the role The Manager, Event Investment plays a key role in supporting the Associate Director, Event Investment to deliver a sustainable and diverse events calendar across NSW. This position focuses on identifying and developing strategic event investment, acquisition, and development opportunities that drive economic and social benefits, strengthen Sydney and NSWs position as a leading events destination in the Asia Pacific, and align with the NSW Visitor Economy Strategy 2035. In this role, you will lead business development activities, assess and enhance the existing events portfolio, and support the design, delivery, and evaluation of regional event funding and grant programs. You will engage with industry, government, and business stakeholders to maximise event outcomes, negotiate contracts and contributions, and prepare high-quality reports, briefs, and presentations. Additionally, you will contribute to strategic planning, performance measurement, and process improvements to ensure effective management and delivery of NSWs event investment priorities. About Destination NSW Destination NSW is the champion and voice for the visitor economy within the NSW Government. Spearheading a whole-of-government approach to visitor economy growth, Destination NSW influences and shapes the visitor economy through strategic research, policy and thought leadership, stakeholder engagement and consultation, commercial partnerships and investment in visitor experiences, business support, marketing and events. Destination NSW is also the major investor in Business Events Sydney (BESydney) for the purpose of securing more international and domestic conventions, incentive travel reward programs, corporate events and exhibitions. Seefor further details. About You You are an innovative and strategic professional with demonstrated experience in event acquisition, investment, and development. You have excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills, with experience building strategic partnerships and working collaboratively with event owners, industry, and government. You are highly organised, capable of managing multiple projects and contracts, and confident preparing reports, briefs, and presentations on complex issues. You bring a proactive and evidence-based approach to identifying and securing unique, long-term event opportunities that deliver economic, social, and strategic benefits across NSW. You have a detailed understanding of the event industry, including marketing, media valuation, and promotional strategies, and are able to develop existing events to maximise their value and impact.
