About the role The Manager Legalprovidesexpert legal advice,guidanceand solutions on complex operational,commercialand reputational issues, to internal stakeholders and the leadership team. You willprovidepragmatic advice oncomplex and sensitive matters to support theNSW Reconstruction Authority (RA)statutory functions. This includes: leading negotiations in complex transactional environments, includingproperty,commercial,construction and procurementmatters; drafting and reviewing documents includingcontracts; advising on statutory interpretation; working collaboratively and flexibly with clients and other key stakeholders on a range ofprojects; advising on grant funding arrangements,including disaster recovery funding; assistingwithdisputes andlitigation matters. Undertaking a wide range of tasks with often tight or competingtimeframes, the role requires excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, enthusiasm, and a commitment to providing high quality advice and services. Your communication and interpersonal skills are highly developed, and your strong stakeholder management skills provide you the confidence and ability to build andmaintaintrusted relationships with a variety of stakeholders and team members. Whatwerelooking for To be successful in this role, you will havedemonstratedextensive knowledgeand/or experience in one or more of the following areas: Property law Commercial law Construction law Administrativelaw Complex grants arrangements Structuring complex transactions Candidatesmust holda currentNSW legalpracticing certificate. They will have extensive knowledge and experience inprovidinglegal advice in a complex multifaceted agency or business. Strong candidates will have excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, and an ability to deliver outcomes while working in a dynamic environment.Fiveyears minimumpost admission experience is preferable. About the agency The RA is a statutory corporation that will improve how NSW plans for disasters and ensure that we recover from them faster. To reduce the severity and impacts of disasters, the RA will complete critical planning and preparation with communities,businessesand government. When disaster does strike, we will get recovery started swiftly and coordinate reconstruction efforts across agencies,communitiesand other stakeholders. The RAs key responsibilities are to: plan and deliver strategies to reduce disaster risks and impacts coordinate whole-of-government recovery and reconstruction efforts support councils and communities to prepare for and adapt to disasters manage disaster resilience funding and recovery grants provide data,insightsandexpertiseto guide action and prioritise investment.
