Employment Type: Permanent Full Time (38 hours per week)Position Classification: Health Manager Level 1Remuneration: $79.171.07 $116,824 per annum + 12% SuperannuationLocation: Tamworth Rural Referral HospitalRequisition ID: REQ637311Application closing date: Sunday 15th March 2026Join a progressive regional health service and build your coding expertise in a supportive, high-performing team.About the RoleTamworth Rural Referral Hospital is seeking a qualified and motivated Clinical Coder to join the Clinical Information Department.In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely coding of inpatient episodes of care, ensuring compliance with Australian Coding Standards, supporting Activity Based Funding outcomes, and contributing to the integrity and quality of clinical data.Key ResponsibilitiesAccurately assign diagnosis and procedure codes in accordance with ICD-10-AM/ACHI/ACS and Australian Coding StandardsMaintain coding quality, accuracy, and consistency across a broad and complex casemixReview clinical documentation and clarify coding queries with clinicians and other healthcare staffComplete cancer registration notificationsCollect and report coding activity statistics and meet personal coding benchmarksParticipate in audits, quality improvement, and professional development activitiesCollaborate with peers to support knowledge sharing and best practiceThis role provides exposure to a diverse clinical casemix, offering excellent opportunities to enhance coding expertise and professional growth.About the TeamYou will be part of the Clinical Information Department, a professional and supportive team that thrives on collaboration and excellence.
