Position InformationCalare is an innovative primary school situated in the centre of Orange, with a current student population of 585, comprising of 14% Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and 6% students with backgrounds other than English. We strive to grow great kids in spaces where they flourish.Selection CriteriaIn addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary Highly developed collaborative and consultative leadership with demonstrated ability in leading school improvement and support staff through school strategic planning, curriculum change and educational reforms. Demonstrated success in implementing and coordinating a broad range of student wellbeing programs. Evidence of collaborative management, excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build upon positive relationships across the school and community, in line with the schools wellbeing framework.High level ability to manage the competing demands of the Assistant Principals role in a large school, including daily operations, organisation, student behaviour and wellbeing.General Selection Criteria1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department''s Aboriginal education policyConditionsAn unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement.
