In association with Grand Pacific Health (GPH), Hunter Primary Care is looking for a dynamic communications officer to provide experienced coordination and advice, supporting community engagement and service promotion activities for our new Medicare Mental Health Centre based on the Central Coast. About the Position The primary purpose of the Community Engagement Officer role is to coordinate community awareness raising activities in the region that: Promotes and enhances understanding of the services offered at Head to Health including referral pathways Promotes early help seeking to improve access to health and other services for priority populations Ensures information is available to consumers, their families and the local community is accessible and easy to understand This is a full-time opportunity with ADO accrual available. Skills & Experience We are looking for someone with: Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline, and/or extensive experience in community development, health promotion, public health, social sciences, or education Demonstrated experience in delivering community engagement activities that increase community awareness and reduce barriers to care for mental health consumers Demonstrated understanding of the health and wellbeing needs of consumers with mental health and/or substance use problems Excellent interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills and ability to work as part of a team as well as independently Interested?
