The Opportunity Were looking for an experienced and driven Front of House & Functions Manager to lead our hospitality team and take ownership of the member experience across our bistro, bar, and function spaces. Reporting to the General Manager, this is a genuine leadership role where youll shape the culture of the team, drive service standards, and play a central role in growing and delivering our functions and events business at one of Tasmanias most iconic venues. What Youll Do Lead, train, and develop a dedicated front of house team building a positive culture and high performance Design and manage staff rosters to balance service excellence with labour cost efficiency Set and uphold exceptional service standards across all dining and function areas Actively grow the functions and events business converting enquiries into bookings through confident, timely, and professional quoting and follow-up Identify opportunities to upsell packages, menus, and experiences to maximise revenue per event Build relationships with members, corporates, and event organisers to generate repeat business and referrals Collaborate closely with the Head Chef on menus, event packages, and compelling pricing structures Oversee end-to-end event delivery from first contact through to post-event follow-up Handle member feedback with professionalism and care Manage stock, suppliers, systems, and reporting to keep operations running smoothly Ensure compliance with awards, workplace regulations, and Tasmanian liquor licensing laws What Youll Bring Minimum 5 years experience in a comparable role, ideally in a premium club, fine dining, or events environment A flair for sales and business development you understand that a great venue sells itself best through the people who represent it A proven track record in team leadership, recruitment, and staff development Strong grasp of rostering, labour cost management, and operational reporting Excellent knowledge of food and beverage service standards Current RSA certification and familiarity with Tasmanian liquor licensing Experience with hospitality management software Impeccable presentation and a genuine passion for delivering exceptional service Ready to Apply?
